The first thing I noticed about the Novostella Smart LED Flood light is how well and solid it is built. It has a very thick and strong metallic housing. It’s rated IP66 waterproof so it can be used both indoors and outdoors.
It’s not a big light. At just 6” wide, 4” tall, and 1.25” thick, the flood light can be mounted easily out of sight and out of the way. It even comes with a metal mounting bracket attached for easy mounting. The mounting bracket can be adjusted 180 degrees to aim the light in the desired direction. It also comes with a powerful antenna for stable Wi-Fi connection.
At first, I was concerned that the 20W version with 2000 lumens wouldn’t be bright enough outdoors. To my surprise, 2000 lumens is quite bright especially when the light is in its various white colors. The light housing does get warm to the touch after some time. The heatsink-like ridges in the back of the housing help to dissipate heat nicely.
The white colors can be adjusted between 2700K warm white to 6500K daylight white at any brightness. In addition to the white colors, the light can be set to any one of the 16 million possible RGB colors at any brightness and saturation. In addition to these custom settings, there are 8 preset scenes perfect for setting the desired mood during parties or holidays. Scenes like Colorful and Dazzling can be great for Christmas. I especially love the colors the light cycles through in the Gorgeous scene mode. It’s truly… gorgeous.
